Accelerated Problem Solving

How often have you tasked your staff with solving a problem, only to see it re-emerge repeatedly? How often have you experienced excruciatingly slow or sub-optimal problem solving due to the emotionalism of your staff or your board members?

Using real workplace problems drawn extemporaneously from the audience, this session demonstrates the utility of imposing a structured process on the problem solving function. Highly interactive, and grounded in the priorities of the audience, this session helps attendees bridge the gap between problem solving theory and practical application, equipping them to act meaningfully and quickly on causes rather than on symptoms.

Attendees will learn to use classic problem solving tools which hasten and heighten clarity of analysis, reveal opportunities for developmental delegation, and expedite the identification and implementation of solutions, including:

  • How to subordinate emotion to process
  • How to crystallize and accurately articulate problems
  • How to clarify the components of problems
  • How to "see through" the causes of problems and neutralize those causes
  • How to facilitate the identification of potential solutions
  • How to evaluate the likelihood of implementation success
  • How to "package" recommended solutions

This session reveals an intimate familiarity with the complex and varied problems of association managers, and will challenge attendee intellect immediately with its experience-rich, association-oriented, "grounded-in-reality" content.

The greatest benefit to attendees from this session will be the provision of multiple, practical tools which can be implemented quickly and easily to facilitate effective problem solving.
