Conquering Conflict

One of the most pervasive problems within the executive ranks of associations is the frequency with which conflict festers because no one knows how to handle it.

This sessions presents a compendium of excuses offered by association professionals regarding their reticence to manage conflicts, including:

  • Retained Ineptitude
  • Negative Fantasies
  • Personal Invalidation
  • Toxic Disdain
  • Choice Aversion
  • Struthio Camelus Mentality

  • These and other excuses are dismantled by revealing the flaws of reasoning embedded within. A list of Top Ten Tips is also provided to help attendees more successfully managing conflict. Whether diffusing one’s own hostile situation, or intervening to help others, this session will lessen both the duration and the intensity of altercations.
Augmented by a self-assessment mechanism: “The Strength Deployment Inventory”, this workshop involves attendees in both introspective and team activities.

Attendees will be equipped to distinguish themselves by becoming known as the “Go To” person when hostilities erupt.
